Something you may not realize about your Word documents is that they can be packed full of metadata!
What's metadata you ask? Well it's specific information stored within the document that is not visible but can be referenced for different reasons.
For example, when you first enter MS Word it will ask for your name and initials. It captures this information so that can identify the author of the document or if you are editing a document using track changes, it can identify who made what change.
Proofing your documents before sending them is important, and you may want to take the extra step to locate and remove any hidden metadata as well.
