Each time I click on a Word document to load it into Word 2007, the Windows Installer initiates. How do I get this to stop?

It almost sounds like you have Office 2003 installed as well. That causes problems like you describe. Uninstalling Office 2003 will fix that. If you don't have Office 2003 installed, try running the Office 2007 diagnostics.

Select the Office button > Word Options (bottom right of window) > Resources from the left nav. Click the Diagnose button next to "Run Microsoft Office Diagnostics". It will check the entire Office 2007 suite of apps and hopefully fix your problem.

If it doesn't, try uninstalling and reinstalling.
