Some users have reported problems running their existing macros after upgrading to Excel 2007. According to Microsoft's blog on deprecated features, macros as far back as Excel 2.1 (1989) still work in their original format under Excel 2007:

I tested this with a rather complex 10-year-old 4.0 macro and it runs fine when opened, then breaks if the file is saved under Excel 2007. But it should be possible to save Excel 2003 macros under Excel 2007 if the macros were originally created and saved in the Excel 97/2003 file format.

For those having Macro problems, here are a couple suggestions. Try running the macro from the original file used under Excel 2003 without ever saving it in Excel 2007. If that doesn't work, temporarily turn on "Enable All Macros," then open and run the macro to see if there's some odd security issue at play:

Ribbon -> Developer Tab -> Macro Security -> Enable All Macros

If the Developer Tab is not visible, turn it on here:

Office Button -> Excel Options -> Popular -> Show Developer tab in the Ribbon
