|
|
As we move closer and closer to everyone having the full Outlook client, there is an important distinction that needs to be made and that is the difference between allowing someone to see your calendar vs. giving someone delegate rights to your account.
Sharing your calendar or your tasks, or even your contacts is a simple and easy process in Outlook 2007.
In the Calendar Task Pane there is a link, "Share My Calendar" and the same is true for Tasks, Contacts and Notes. Clicking this link creates a sharing message that you address and send off. Very easy.
This is different than setting someone up as a Delegate because a Delegate can act in your stead for your whole account (depending on the permissions you set of course).
So think of Delegates as a rather high level of access to your "account" where sharing calendars, notes and tasks are more granular and specific.
I hope that helps avoid some sharing confusion in Outlook.
